My culminating show on making a series of chairs from a single ash tree. There will be a presentation on the plight of the ash tree and the emerald ash borer, as well as traditional chair making techniques. Hands-on woodworking activities will include how to split and carve wood. There will also be a free, tiny 3-legged stool workshop for 15 registrants.
This program was made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, in partnership.
